BILL HINZE introduced Margot Marlott, Musical director for the Tippecanoe Chamber Music Society with a degree in cello performance, and owner of Classical Music Agency. The Society was founded in 1997, has had four musical directors over the years, but continues to call Duncan Hall its home. Chamber music is "music in a room". Usually 2 to 12 musicians (one instrument to a part) who work together as a team with no conductor. The society has an active educational outreach program, offering Masters Classes, Pre-concert Lecture/Demo, and offering affordably priced tickets for students. They also have "Concert to Go" where a string trio or brass quintet visit elementary schools in the county to be "up close and personal" with 1,200 students each year. She closed by reviewing the upcoming season. |
