TERRY WEST introduced Emily Dawes, Ambassadorial Scholar for 2010-2011.
A 2009 graduate of Purdue University in history and global studies, she speaks
French, Chinese and Arabic. Emily will be studying at the American University in
Beirut, Lebanon next year.

TOM PEARSON introduced Elaine Brovont, Executive Director of Mid-Land
Meals. With board members TOM, BARB REIF and SUZANN SHACKLETON in
the audience, Elaine explained that 2000 meals are prepared every day in their
new building on Concord Road. These meals are delivered to meal sites and to
individual homes allowing young, elderly and disabled persona to achieve better health
with nutritious food. Ten percent of Tippecanoe County's population is over 60
years old and one-third of those are below poverty level. Mid-Land Meals is
funded by donations, private pay arrangements, USDA and contracts. In 2009
429,234 meals were prepared and delivered or shipped. With infectious passion,
Elaine listed several ways that members can help. Contact Mid-Land meals
